Creative Equals

CP+B AND CREATIVE EQUALS CHALLENGED CANNES TO MAKE ITS ICONIC AWARD REPRESENTATIVE OF THE WORLD TODAY – BY UPDATING ITS TROPHY TO ONE THAT IS HALF LION, AND HALF LIONESS.

The Cannes Lions are the Oscars of advertising. The one we all respect and look too. Cannes has previously stated its commitment to influencing change in the ratio of women leaders in agency creative departments.

We acknowledged the strides they’ve taken towards gender equality in our industry, BUT in 2017 we asked them to take the next step.

Redesign it’s iconic award statue and make it a symbol for gender parity in advertising. This is not a design tweak for one year to be seen to be doing the right thing, we want this to be a constant permanent reminder.

The #CallForEquality campaign, launched across social channels, featuring the newly proposed half lion, half lioness trophy. 

This new LIONS award was delivered to Jose Papa, managing director of the Cannes Lions Festival, for his consideration.
